A consistent message we’re receiving from executives returning to Beijing: they’re pleasantly surprised by the abundance of blue sky days! Over the past decade, Beijing has taken significant steps to control air pollution. Measures include optimizing energy infrastructure, reducing coal use, and curbing vehicle emissions.

The results are impressive: a remarkable 60% reduction in fine particulate pollution (PM2.5) from 2013 to 2023! In 2023 alone, Beijing enjoyed nearly 300 days of good air quality, a significant increase from the 176 days recorded in 2013. A round of applause to Beijing for exemplifying how determined efforts produce tangible results.
